“School days, school days, dear old golden rule days…” Do you ever dream of what school was like 100 years ago in a one room schoolhouse?  Grand County has an authentic one room schoolhouse in Pioneer Village in Hot Sulphur Springs.  On Friday, July 26, children of elementary age will have an opportunity to experience what it would have been like in an early Grand County school.  Taught by Jo Ann Dunn, who has led this program for 20 years in a one room schoolhouse in Jefferson County, the children will have a hands-on experience in our school. They will read from McGuffey Readers, write on slates with chalk, make lemonade and churned ice cream, and recite.

Free for GCHA members and $10 for non-members. Please call the museum at 970-725-3939 or email serena@grandcountyhistory.org  to make a reservation.

Space is limited so call soon.
