This engaging presentation will feature historic images, maps, and stories from the “ghost” mining towns of Teller City, Crescent City, Park City, and Tyne —once-thriving mining camps located in Colorado’s remote North Park region. Discover the brief booms, rapid declines, and lasting traces of these communities that played a role in shaping the area’s early mining history.
This program is presented by Ashley Doty. At sixteen, Ashley visited the ghost town of Keota —her first Colorado ghost town—and was captivated by its quiet beauty and the stories held within its abandoned buildings. Since 2016, she and her husband, Nathan, have explored and documented ghost towns, mines, and forgotten homesteads throughout Colorado and the greater plains region—including North Dakota, Montana, Wyoming, Nebraska, and Iowa.
